The students Laurin Link, Johann Käuper, Janis Klich and Julius Haase spent several afternoons at FASTEC. Halil İbrahim Kovancı, a freelancer and developer of the model from Turkey, joined in via Teams and provided advice and support. He had previously created the construction kit for the machine using a special 3D modeling tool. The Pelestorms also carried out further optimizations on the plant.
The result is an animated LEGO injection molding machine that can be used to vividly demonstrate the functions of our machine data acquisition module.
FASTEC has decided to make a donation of 500 euros to the Pelestorms in recognition of their continued support and assistance. The students take part in regional and international competitions with their LEGO robots as a robotics team and working group.
I am impressed by our freelancer who developed the complex model with over 30 gears exclusively on the computer. As with a real injection molding machine, the tool, robot arm and conveyor belt move completely synchronously. But I was also impressed by the students’ stamina and cleverness. We are very happy to be able to contribute to the promotion of young talent in the region and would be very happy to work with the Pelestorms again in the future.
