The FASTEC 4 PRO Software Solution at Queisser Pharma
Queisser Pharma, based in Schleswig-Holstein on the Danish border, develops, produces and markets food supplements, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Queisser Pharma is best known among consumers for its Doppelherz brand, which can be found in numerous supermarkets, drugstores and pharmacies worldwide. In order to have a solid basis for investment decisions, FASTEC 4 PRO has been digitizing Queisser Pharma’s production in Flensburg for several years.

Challenges
For the software update, the central requirements of Queisser Pharma were, on the one hand, increased user-friendliness, so that employees in production can maintain the software with reasonable effort and still carry out their main tasks. On the other hand, the additional interlocking was also a project requirement. Especially for fast-paced lines in pharmaceutical production, this leads to time savings and clearer data.
Solution
FASTEC 4 PRO is implemented at Queisser Pharma with the modules Machine Data Acquisition (MDA) and Production Data Acquisition (PDA) at eight packaging lines. There, bulk goods are first packed into blisters and then into folding boxes. Another, ninth line
is currently being put into operation, which handles the filling and packaging of dietary supplements (25 ml drinkable ampoules/shots). The main aspects currently considered in data acquisition are the utilization rate, the number of incorrectly produced boxes and the OEE indicator.
Results
The data from FASTEC 4 PRO is mainly used as a solid basis for decision-making by production managers and management. After all, no investment decision can be made based only on the number of well-produced folding boxes per month. The production data collected by FASTEC 4 PRO is indispensable for this at Queisser Pharma. Especially in the demanding pharmaceutical industry, a gut feeling is not enough for capital-intensive investments. Wrong decisions cost a lot of money. A carefully considered and fact-based, worthwhile investment decision, on the other hand, directly amortizes the costs for the production software.
