Production software must run reliably – even during an internet outage. That’s why FASTEC chose to develop hybrid cloud-native applications and launched pvaPRO last year. Currently, it serves as a dashboard add-on to FASTEC 4 PRO, enabling customized analysis of shop floor data in the cloud. In the coming years, pvaPRO is set to evolve into a fully featured MES with a hybrid architecture.
Hybrid Architecture: Reliability Meets Innovation
Our roots lie in automation with our own LON-based hardware – intelligent and connected, a precursor to the Internet of Things. Later, we focused entirely on MES software and stepped away from hardware development. Now, with FASTedge, the circle is complete: our earlier hardware expertise is once again part of the picture – enabling end-to-end, integrated MES solutions from machine to cloud, all from a single source.

Looking Back: easyOEE and FASTEC 4 PRO as Pioneers of Digitalization
A major milestone in FASTEC’s 30-year history was the launch of its entry-level solution easyOEE in 2007. This allowed manufacturing companies to digitally collect machine data on performance, availability, and quality and calculate Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) from it.
Two years later, the MES FASTEC 4 PRO followed, enabling comprehensive digitalization of production initially with modules for machine data collection (MDC) and production data collection (PDC). Modules for quality assurance, production planning, maintenance, and traceability were added later.
Today, FASTEC has replaced easyOEE with the new entry-level solution smartOEE. This is a 3-month project in which manufacturing companies uncover the potential of their machines, initiate improvements, and sustainably increase productivity.
FASTEC currently employs around 100 people at its headquarters in Paderborn. On July 4, 2025, the team will celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary with a summer party and a promising outlook for the future.
We thank our team for their dedication and creativity over the past 30 years. Some have been with FASTEC since day one, while others bring fresh perspectives. We look forward to shaping MES solutions for the factories of the future together.
